Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

truehome.ie is run by True Home Properties Limited, a company registered in Ireland (company number 811518), with its registered office at 77 Camden Street Lower, Saint Kevin's, Dublin D02 XE80. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about it at privacy@truehome.ie.

This policy covers truehome.ie only. Progressa, our software for estate agents, has its own privacy notice at progressa.ie.

2. The short version

• You can read everything on this site without an account, and we never ask you for personal details.
• We do not use cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
• We count visits in aggregate so we know which pages are useful. The count does not identify you.
• If you email us, we use your email to reply to you.

3. What we collect and why

When you visit the site. When your browser loads a page, our hosting provider receives the technical information that any website receives: your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request and your browser's user agent. This is used to deliver the page and to protect the site against abuse, and it is kept only for a short period set by our hosting provider.

Visit statistics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page viewed, the website that referred you, and your approximate country, device type, browser and operating system. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally, and we only ever see totals.

Emails you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you choose to write. We use this to reply to you and to keep a record of the conversation.

4. Our legal basis

We rely on our legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) to run a secure and working website, to understand which pages are useful, and to answer the messages people send us. Where you contact us about a service you would like from us, we also rely on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We use a small number of service providers, who process it only on our instructions:

• Vercel Inc. hosts the website and provides the visit statistics.
• Google provides our email (Google Workspace).
• Cloudflare provides the domain name service for truehome.ie.

We may also disclose information where the law requires us to.

6. Transfers outside the EEA

Some of these providers are based in, or use infrastructure in, the United States. Where personal data leaves the European Economic Area, it is protected by an appropriate safeguard, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. How long we keep it

• Hosting request logs: a short period set by our hosting provider.
• Visit statistics: kept only as totals in our analytics dashboard.
• Emails: for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry, and then for up to two years, unless the matter is ongoing or the law requires us to keep it for longer.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, email privacy@truehome.ie. We will reply within one month.

9. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission, Ireland's data protection authority, at dataprotection.ie.

10. Children

This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
